Be careful - the Linksys WAP11 version 2.2 is no longer based on the
Atmel chipset, thus ap-utils will no longer work on a newer WAP11.

No.

ap-utils does not use the USB port.

It is only capable of using the Ethernet port.

But it is possible to change all of the settings via the Ethernet port,
just like the USB port.  That is why Roman says that it has the same
functionality.

To allow configuration via Ethernet, the Atmel chipset runs an
implementation of the SNMP standard.  ap-utils just sends and receives
SNMP packets from the WAP11.
