[ap-utils] DWL-900AP as client to another AP?

First off, thanks for providing utilities to configure my recently
aquired D-Link DWL-900AP wireless AP from Linux. It is so nice not to
have to de-boot Linux and boot WinME to work with the configuration.

Next, it looks like this mailing list is a good source of information on
this AP. (Same as a Linksys WAP-11 Version 1.x I'm told.) If there is a
better source for information, please point me in the right direction!

I'm trying to get my DWL-900AP working as a client to a D-link DI-614+
AP. I have so far not been successful and D-Link tech support has told
me "Sir im sorry to say this but this access point will not client to a
di-614+ the dwl-900ap will only client to another DWL-900ap."

Can anybody tell me if this is true? I can't see how they could describe
the 900AP as capable of operating in client mode if it can only
interoperate with another 900AP.

Basically, what I have done so far is to set matching ESSID and WEP
settings along with setting the preferred BSSID in the DWL-900AP to
match that of the DI-914+.

If there is hope that this can be configured to talk to a DI-914+ I will
provide details of the configuration.

many thanks,
hank
