That would be kinda amazing, since it uses SNMP which doesn't require an 
explicit driver, or module.  Then again, this assumes that you have 
basic ethernet networking functioning, which will require a module for 
your NIC.  I do have to ask why you're still using the default kernel 
that came with RH-7.1, when its chocked full of bugs & security exploits 
(not to mention its unstable).
